Not even the greatest care in handling and printing Optical Discs can completely
eliminate surface defects that appear on the bottom side of a disc after replication.
Any defects visible to the human eye can quickly erode confidence in a manufacturer’s
products by customers and the consumer alike.
The RS-1600 Read Side Inspection System provides quality inspection of the Read Side of an Optical Disc to detect basic defects in the play area of the disc such as scratches, bumps, ink splatter and other defects. The system is able to detect most major surface related defects on the read side of CDs and DVDs once they have been printed using standard printing machines.
Special Features:
- Megapixel Monochrome Camera with integrated light source and alignment mount
- “Cold” LED Light Sources avoids thermal color spectrum shifts
- Two independently controlled light sources for illumination of most defect types
- Multiple images taken per disc improves detection of all defect types
- Variable Light Intensity adjusts to type of metallization on disc
- Fully adjustable defect sensitivity allows operator to tune inspection to suit process requirements
- “On-the-fly” learning of disc during setup minimizes downtime
- Defects detected include ink splatter, scratches, bumps, dents.
