Radian 2000i - Infeed Tube Forming Measurement System

Inline, Real Time Measurement for ERW Tube and Pipe Production

The Xiris Radian 2000i measurement system is an industry first! Designed for ERW tube and pipe mills to measure these six critical variables:

Benefits of the Radian 2000i

  • Less Downtime - Improve setup in the forming area, minimize buckling in the line and provide early warnings of equipment wear
  • Reduced Waste - Reduce the amount of raw material required during setup of the V-angle, forming and weld test
  • Reduced Scrap - Faster reaction to defect-causing disturbances during production.
  • Useful Data - SPC data collection improves process optimization and overall efficiency
  • Improved Quality - Radian measurement data can improve quality of tube mill output to prevent shipped product from becoming a liability.

Reliable, Repeatable Performance

The Radian 2000i sensor head is placed between the last fin pass rollers and the induction coil on an ERW mill. Fast image processing of high resolution imaging combined with precise laser line projection provides highly accurate information continuously for the user.

The system has two data logs: an error reporting log for out-of-tolerance measurements and a job log that records all production data. An offline SPC tool allows the managers to run simulations to tighten the parameters for future production.
