L6p - Post-Print Inspection

The Xiris L6p, the latest innovation in our highly successful print inspection series, offers an exclusive last control mechanism for the disc’s data side after the printing process. The Xiris post-print inspection system takes advantage of the tried and tested L6 hardware for accurate detection of scratches, ink drops and other post-print related defects on the data side of all optical media.

The L6p features a single LED light source: the upper LED panel for analyzing the disc’s data side.

The L6 post-print spots defects as low as almost 100 µm in size. Another new software feature, Color Plane Inspection Detecting, captures low-contrast defects in large homogeneous areas. The high imaging quality required for this level of accuracy is provided by a high-resolution digital monochrome camera with a 1024 x 1024 pixel array. Marrying the low signal-to-noise ratio of a single-chip camera with multiple image-taking eliminates noise while boosting inspection performance.

Thanks to it small size, you can integrate your Xiris L6p not only into the latest generation of printers, but also into packaging machines shortly before discs are packed. This eliminates the risk of shipping defects on the data side of optical discs.
