Xiris Releases An Off-Line Ident Code Reader

Automation Inc. is pleased to announce the release of the newest addition to
the Xiris product family, the ID-2500-QC Ident Code Reader, a desktop model
for off-line use. Able to read all standard Bar Codes printed on the hub
of any format of optical disc, the system can be used to read discs at a standalone
quality control station such as those used in incoming inspection departments
or between stages of manufacturing
A specially designed light source detects the presence of a disc whenever a disc is placed on the camera head and initiates the read of the disc. Using the same software as the powerful standard Ident Code reader, the ID-2500-QC then decodes the bar code information, sending the information to a serial port for external use. The system can be connected to plant wide MRP systems to track disc shipments into and out of manufacturing facilities.
