Xiris Ships First Blu-Ray Ident Code Verifiers

is pleased to announce that it has shipped its first batch of ID3500 Ident code
verification systems, the latest generation of its systems capable of reading
all formats of Optical discs, including Blu-Ray discs. The new ID3500 uses Patent-pending
lighting technology to provide high contrast images yielding extremely reliable
bar code and optical character read rates.
Blu-Ray discs, in particular, require special consideration for Ident code reading: the pit structure is significantly different on Blu-Ray discs than other disc formats. As a result, traditional lighting techniques suitable for DVDs and CDs are not adequate for Blu-Ray production. Demonstrations of the ID3500 to prospective OEMs and End User customers have been met with great excitement about the quality of the images and the ability to read all disc formats. As a result, Xiris has just recently shipped the first batch of ID3500 systems to a number of key customers in Japan, Europe and the USA.
