Success Story #4 - Service Response
Situation: Packaging Manager, Large Replicator, United States.
Critical Issue: The company had more than 20 packaging to pack CD and
DVD discs machines with another supplier’s Ident Code Verifier. The Ident Code
Verifier became a key component of their production line as it determined if
they had any disc contamination. When the production line was down, the company
lost money!!!
Reasons: The company had a great deal of experience in dealing with the
other supplier. Recently, the company found that service from the other supplier
was not satisfactory. This proved to be very troubling to the company as they
needed strong service backup for all their production equipment to keep all
their lines running. In addition, they encountered stiff resistance from the
other supplier when asked to make changes in the configuration of the system
hardware or software. In summary, the other supplier was slow to respond, reluctant
to customize their equipment, and service was below par.
Vision: The manager needed a supplier that would be willing to respond
to meet the challenges required of them, including servicing their equipment
on short notice. He wanted to be able to customize his equipment to suit his
own factory requirements. Finally, he wanted accessibility to good technical
staff that could answer in depth technical questions as required.

Result: They have since ordered multiple systems from Xiris over several
